How cute is this?

A judge’s early Christmas gesture for a man who was up for jury duty has gone viral for the sweetest reason.

Court reporter Sarah-Jane Murphy shared the moving story earlier this week, where it’s quickly gone viral – getting thousands of likes, retweets and comments since it was posted.

The adorable exchange between the two took place during jury selection at the Criminal Courts of Justice on Tuesday.

It begins when the man, who was up for jury duty, said that he couldn’t serve – as he was going to be away at the weekend.

The judge pointed out that the court didn’t sit at weekends – but the man’s reason why (and the judge’s response) will melt your heart.

The man explained to the court room:

“I’m away till Monday. I’m 54, a bachelor & it’s my 1st time in love.”

And the kind-hearted judge replied:

“Then you GO and you GO with my blessing.”

Sarah-Jane said it was “truly an epic moment” – and it looks like social media users agree.

The original post has gotten 6,500 likes and nearly 2,000 retweets since it was first shared – as well as plenty of comments.

Someone commented:

“Sniff. Something in my eye or high pollen count or something.”

Another Twitter user commented:

“This is EPIC.”

Another person joked:

“Is this the ending to Love Actually II?”
