Emmerdale have confirmed a massive storyline for David Metcalfe and Jacob Gallagher this Christmas – as a baby is set to be left at their door.
The pair are fairly understandably shocked when the child is left tat their door, according to DigitalSpy, and will soon see their lives turned upside down.
And given a heavily pregnant Maya Stepney’s brief return when she was released from prison…well, it seems as if she may want the little one to be with their dad.
“Who’s the daddy is being asked by David and Jacob, and Jamie and Graham this Christmas,” executive producer Jane Hudson told the publication. “You will find out who’s the daddy in one of those stories, but in another you won’t find out for a while. It’s very exciting and it’s very explosive.”
She added that the arrival of the newborn is gong to have a “massive impact” on both David and Jacob – and “for whoever the dad is”.
“[David and Jacob are] having a nice Christmas, then all of a sudden there’s a baby on the doorstep. It’s not what they expected,” she continued.
“It’s going to have a massive effect and when they find out who the father is – if it’s Maya’s baby! For both of them it’s going to have a massive effect. But for whoever the dad is, it’s going to have a massive impact.”
