Buckingham Palace has made a statement about Meghan’s birthing plan

Any day now.

If you’re a fan of the royals then you’ll know that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are expecting their baby to arrive any day/week now.

It’s an incredibly exciting time for them, and from a statement that Buckingham Palace just gave, they clearly want to enjoy their time with their little one by themselves.

The palace confirmed that Harry and Meghan will break royal protocol and will not do the traditional photo-on-steps-six-hours-after-arrival thing.

The statement said:

“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very grateful for the goodwill they have received from people throughout the United Kingdom and around the world as they prepare to welcome their baby.

“Their Royal Highnesses have taken a personal decision to keep the plans around the arrival of their baby private. The Duke and Duchess look forward to sharing the exciting news with everyone once they have had an opportunity to celebrate privately as a new family.”

It was reported during the week that Meghan is expected to give birth at Frimley Park Hospital in Surrey, a more private location that’s closer to their new home at Frogmore Cottage.

It may mean a more low-key birth but it’ll also mean we don’t get the traditional photo call on the steps of the Lindo Wing.
