Earlier today it was reported that Meghan Markle’s dad will not be attending the royal wedding this weekend.

Thomas Markle said that he will not be walking his daughter down the aisle on Saturday over pictures he had sold of himself to a photo agency.

However, according to Sky News, Meghan and Harry have asked for understanding and respect while they try to get through the situation.

Sky News tweeted: “Kensington Palace has responded to reports Meghan Markle’s father may not attend the wedding saying “this is a deeply personal moment” and “she and Prince Harry ask for understanding and respect to be extended to Mr. Markle in this difficult situation.”

They did not comment any further.

Mr. Markle told TMZ that he suffered a heart attack six days ago, but that he discharged himself from hospital so he could travel for the wedding.

However, the publication reports that the 73-year-old has decided not to go because he doesn’t want to “embarrass” his daughter.

The photos depicted Markle apparently preparing for his daughter’s wedding this weekend.

Meghan and Harry will marry this Saturday, May 19 in St George’s Chapel in the grounds of Windsor.
