Looks like Coronation Street has revealed Kate Connor’s exit storyline

Keeley Ryan

Coronation Street has appeared to drop the first hints about Kate Connor’s exit storyline.

Earlier this year, it was revealed that Faye Brookes – who has played Kate for the last four years – would be leaving the cobbles.

She was said to have filmed her final scenes in the role last Friday, with the plot line expected to play out in early fall.

Now, it looks like fans may have their first details about why Kate decides to leave Weatherfield.

According to MetroJenny gets annoyed when Kate comes down the stairs with another hangover – and suggests to Johnny that she got a job and paid some rent, it could give her a bit of a sense of purpose.

And in an effort to make some more money, Jenny begins to consider the idea o turning the Rovers Return into a B&B, enlisting the help of Ed to get a quote and come up with the plans.

Kate ends up meeting up with her ex, Imogen, who tells her all about her plans to travel the world. She begins to feel envious, before Imogen suggests that she join her.

Jenny is left furious when Kate ends up asking her dad for the £3,000 to fund the trip – so, Kate says she intends to work at the Bistro so she can pay her own way on the trip.

Her stepmom is over the moon at the news, joking with Tracy that she is finally getting rid of Kate – which, understandably, leaves Kate pretty hurt.

And Johnny is not too impressed when he finds that Jenny has gotten Ed to measure up Kate’s room since she’s going travelling – especially since he knows she’s making Kate feel unwanted.

Johnny warns Jenny that she shouldn’t make him choose – and Jenny and Kate call a tentative truce for the sake of Johnny’s health.
