Looks like we’re one step closer to getting Big Little Lies season two

It's the news fans of the show have been waiting for.

It feels like it’s been months since the rumours started.

But the will-they-or-won’t-they speculation around Big Little Lies’ second season is reportedly coming to an end.

According to TVLine, HBO is getting ready to go into production of the drama’s second season in spring 2018.

And the Big Little Lies EP/writer David E. Kelley recently told the publication that a second season was very, very close.

He added:

“We’re kicking around ideas and trying to lasso the talent [and] get the band back together.

“It’s just a lot of logistical things. But I’m optimistic because everyone wants to do it. We feel we still have storytelling to do.

“No decision has been made yet, but we’re hopeful. Where we left it, I felt like it did open the opportunity for a lot more storytelling.”

It comes as the miniseries got eight Emmys in September, including Outstanding Limited Series and Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series for Nicole Kidman.

The dramatic adaptation of Liane Moriarty’s bestselling novel had originally been commissioned as a limited series – but ended up becoming a mammoth success.

While the HBO hit has yet to be officially renewed, fans have been hoping to see the ladies of Monterey on the small screen again.

A number of the shows’ stars have also expressed interest in coming back together for another season of the popular show.
