Meghan Markle has already got a gift she’s planning to give her child

The palace has just announced her pregnancy.

“I plan to give it to my daughter one day.”

Meghan Markle is pregnant with her first baby and we couldn’t be happier for her and Prince Harry.

The Duchess has in the past proven herself to be super sentimental and has said that she already has something she wants to pass down to her child.

If the couple’s baby is a girl, she can expect to be gifted with Meghan’s prized Cartier watch.

She bought the piece as a present to herself a couple of years ago when she found out that her show Suits was getting a third season.

“I’ve always coveted the Cartier French Tank watch,” she previously said.

“When I found out Suits had been picked up for our third season – which, at the time, felt like such a milestone – I totally splurged and bought the two-tone version.”

The stainless steel and yellow gold watch contains sapphire and is certainly pricey. It would have set Meghan back the equivalent of around €5,446.

To personalise the watch, she had a message engraved on it to remind her that she’d gotten it for herself to mark her success.

“I had it engraved on the back, ‘To M.M. From M.M.’ and I plan to give it to my daughter one day.

“That’s what makes pieces special, the connection you have to them.”

“Their Royal Highnesses have appreciated all of the support they have received from people around the world since their wedding in May and are delighted to be able to share this happy news with the public.”
