Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s Christmas plans have been revealed.

The royal family typically celebrates the holiday season at Sandringham with the Queen.

However, earlier this year, a spokesperson for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex would be taking a six-week break from royal duties to spend time as a family.

Now, the palace have revealed a little more about the Sussexes plans – as a spokesperson confirmed they are “spending private family time in Canada.”

“The decision to base themselves in Canada reflects the importance of this Commonwealth country to them both,” the statement read. “Whilst this email confirms the country they are taking their family time in, for security reasons we will not be releasing any further details and request that their privacy is respected.

“The Duke of Sussex has been a frequent visitor to Canada over many years, and it was also home to The Duchess for seven years before she became a member of the Royal Family.

“They are enjoying sharing the warmth of the Canadian people and the beauty of the landscape with their young son.”

The Daily Mail report that the couple and their eight-month-old son Archie flew to Canada last month, where they have been keeping a low profile.

Doria Ragland, Meghan’s mum, has been visiting from Los Angeles. She will be spending Christmas with the Sussexes, as will a number of friends.
