In the past number of months, Meghan Markle has been subject to abuse online. Whether she’s holding baby Archie or going on a holiday, it seems like she can’t do anything without being criticised for it.
The latest dig comes from Tatler magazine who named her as the UK’s number one social climber.
The say that Meghan didn’t go from “rags to riches” as she had a private school education. The feature opens with: “Just cast an eye on today’s Society and you’ll soon see how high the underprivileged have soared. Not to mention those who pretend to be less grand than they really are.”
Meghan takes the top spot with the publication stating: “The pinnacle of the greasy pole. Not quite a rags to riches tale (she was privately educated and her scapegrace father won an Emmy for lighting direction) but the Ralph & Russo-clad beacon of change has found a role that suits her to perfection: a tungsten toughie to drag the Royal Family into the 21st century.”
Among the list is Jerry Hall for “marrying billionaire media magnate Rupert Murdoch” and Robbie William’s daughter, 6-year-old Teddy, for being a flower girl at Princess Eugenie’s wedding.
