Mum asks online forum for help choosing her baby’s name… and the rudeness

Are they being rude or truthful?

Olivia Hayes

We all need a little bit of help.

Some mums discuss baby names with their partners, others with their friends, and many with their mothers, sisters and family.

However, this mum decided to take to Mumsnet to ask for opinions on her choices of baby names… and while many were lovely, one mum was just plain rude.

The user gave her options an wrote:

So we’ve decided on a few names, which one do you prefer?

Hallie Evelyn
Remi Evelyn
Darcie Evelyn
Maisie Evelyn

The overall vote was towards Hallie, with Maisie coming in a close second and Darcie in third… however, one user wasn’t particularly fond of any of the names, and let her feelings known.

All your first names are dreadful. Sorry. Maisie is the best of a bad bunch, but will feel very different on a 40yo than on a 4yo.

Evelyn is OK, but tremendously popular atm for reasons I don’t really understand.

Many called her out for her rudeness, but then one mother had a lot of opinions…

I do think Hayley/Haley is a more versatile name than Hallie and will suit better as an adult. Remi seems like too much of a ‘fad’ name to me, and I’m not a huge fan of Maisie or Darcie – they’re so cutesy and I can’t imagine them ageing well. Just my thoughts though.

Do you think the mums are being rude or just being truthful?
