Mum discovers kids’ ‘secret’ plan to convince her to get them a puppy and it’s hilarious

A mum was left “laughing and laughing” after she found her son’s 10-point plan to convince her to let them get a puppy.

Author Emma Robinson discovered the list made by her eight-year-old son, William, lying on the kitchen table.

She loved their creative plan so much that she decided to share it on social media, where it soon went viral.

She captioned the post:

“Discovered this strategic list of how my 8 year old plans to persuade us into a puppy. (The last addition is his more pragmatic younger sister.)”

It reads:

  1. Do all the chores
  2. Give compliments
  3. Drop in random facts
  4. Post cute pictures of dogs
  5. Put on Christmas list
  6. Trade in a sibling
  7. Say that I’ll get more fit
  8. Put cute pictures around the house
  9. Who’s the sucker?
  10. Make music video

His 6-year-old sister, Scarlett, later added a much more direct suggestion of her own to the list: just ask.

We’re not entirely sure that number 6 is the best way to go about this, though.

Emma told Mirror Online that she originally thought it had been her son’s birthday list, as that was coming up soon – but began laughing when she found out what it actually was.

She added:

“They have been relentless in begging for a dog. My mum got a dog two years ago and it started then, but they have really picked up the pressure in the last six months.

“I asked William’s permission to postcard the photo and he didn’t mind.

“Scarlett, on the other hand, was really cross that I’d seen it because it was supposed to be a secret plan.”

Whether or not they’ve succeeded remains to be seen, as Emma told the publication that she and her husband are still trying to decide.
