Mums discuss the one thing that wrecks their heads about Peppa Pig

Olivia Hayes

Ah, Peppa Pig.

It has been around for years now and for whatever reason, our kids love it. They are glued to it everyday and we just can’t seem to get them away from it.

However, one mum has noticed something very specific about the TV show and over on Mumsnet, a lot of parents are agreeing with her.

The mother wrote:

“So I may be missing something but why is George called George? Every other character has the same letter 1st name with there ‘last name’ etc, Peppa Pig, Danny Dog, Susie Sheep, even the imagery friend has one Leo Lion.

“I’m fully aware I need a life but DS is going through a Peppa phase.”

Many mums replied to her post and said that the exact same thing has been wrecking their heads for ages now. The comments came rolling in:

One said, “This has bugged me for ages! Hope someone knows!” while another wrote, “Glad to know I’m not alone. He’s the only character that has it.”

However, one parent pointed out that a lot of characters don’t have the same syllable at the start of their names.

“Quite a few of them don’t, but mostly I guess its because their name is really a family title – Mummy Pig, Daddy Pig, Uncle Pig, Aunty Pig, Miss Rabbit, Mummy Rabbit, etc.

“Only George and Alexander are differnet. Even when there are other multiple siblings – Emily and Edward Elephant, and what are the Zebras? Zoe, Zaza, and something else?”

Did you ever notice it before?
