Weddings, though always special, can be bittersweet for some.

Gathering the people you love together can be a reminder of family members who are no longer around, which is why so many couples choose to honour those they’ve lost on their big day.

We love how Nadia Forde is including her late mum in her upcoming wedding.

She and partner Dominic Day welcomed their first child, a baby girl they named Wyatt, in October.

The model has revealed that she’s incorporating her late mum’s christening gown into baby Wyatt’s outfit for the occasion.

“Design meeting with @papertolace this morning to restore and rework my Mothers vintage christening gown from the 60’s for our Daughter to wear at our wedding,” (sic) she wrote in a post on Instagram.

“Can’t wait to see the finished result, means so much to me.”

Nadia and Welsh rugby player Dom are expected to tie the knot next summer.

The couple have been together for over three years and got engaged while on a trip to New York earlier in 2018.

Nadia’s mum Berenice passed away in 2015 after battling cancer.

The two had been estranged but reconnected shortly before Berenice’s death.
