Netflix’s new comedy Otherhood is going straight to the top of our must-watch list

Keeley Ryan

Netflix have released the trailer for their newest comedy, Otherhood – and it looks absolutely hilarious.

The movie follows three long-time friends and empty nesters – Carol (Angela Bassett), Gillian (Patricia Arquette) and Helen (Felicity Huffman) – who decide to drive to New York City to reconnect with their adult sons.

But, naturally, things don’t go quite to plan – and in the process of trying to reconnect with their kids, they realise their sons are not the only ones whose lives need to change.

A journey to relate becomes a journey of rediscovery that forces these women to redefine their relationships with their children, friends, spouses and most importantly, themselves.

The movie, written and directed by Sex and the City’s Cindy Chupack, is being hailed as a soulful, hilarious and honest exploration of life after motherhood.

Otherhood lands on Netflix on August 2. But in the meantime, you can check out the trailer below.
