Nick’s returning to Corrie with a lot of family issues to sort out

Delighted to see him back, sure.

During last night’s extremely intense episode of Coronation Street, Nick Tilsey finally returned to the cobbles.

After a decent enough 18 months away, the long-serving member of the street showed up to comfort Leanne Battersby as she lay almost-dying in a hospital bed having been mercilessly run over by Ronan.

Luckily though, it seems as if Leanne won’t die. She just needs a decent bit of recovery time and ex-husband Nick will be by her side to see her through it.

How lovely.

Except, due to the fact that this is Coronation Street we’re talking about and not a Disney film, things won’t be all lovely for Nick at all because he’s returned to the cobbles with a secret and a whole load of baggage.

According to Ben Price, who plays Nick, his character has returned with the intention of making things right, but a lot of his family are going to resist giving him that chance.

He said:

“Something has gone on, quite deep, which I think makes it difficult for him to then just go ‘hey, I’m back’.

“He hides that away for a while. It’s all about him trying to apologise for what went on.”

Price said that there will be “a lot of anger” between family members upon Nick’s return.

He went on:

“Peter I hate, Carla I love/hate.

“My first scene back with Chris was nasty. He was really nasty to me, we loved it, I was nasty to him back.”

Going to be an intense few weeks, alright.
