A UK parenting website has taken a lot of backlash for an article they recently shared on their social media accounts.
The article, which was originally written last year, was shared on Mums Advice’s Facebook page over the weekend.
The post shocked and outraged parents as the article in question was written by a man who describes himself as being sexually attracted to children.
Being a mum-of-two I follow several parenting sites, including Mums Advice and I honestly had to do a double take when this came up in my homefeed.
I thought ‘no I’ve definitely misread that’ but unfortunately I hadn’t. The article while short is extremely disturbing and concerning.
Furious parents were angry not just that this article had been published but that it was continuing to be re-shared by the site.
Parents were horrified that rather than reporting the writer the website instead decided to publish his article.
The man in question defends that fact that he finds young girls aged between five and eight years old attractive by comparing it to adults having a crush on celebrities like Tom Hardy.
When I saw this last night I screenshot the article as I thought it will definitely be taken down come the morning. To my disappointment it is still online and if you wish to read it you can here but you may find it extremely upsetting.
