Prince Harry planned to propose to Meghan Markle in a very different way

Apparently, Prince Harry changed plans last-minute when proposing to Meghan Markle.

As fans of the couple probably know, he popped the question at home in Nottingham Cottage but it could have been very different.

However, the original plan sounds slightly more elaborate as according to reports, Prince Harry had planned to propose in Botswana, while the couple were on holiday.

A Channel 5 documentary entitled Meghan Markle: Movies, Marriage and Motherhood reveals that the big proposal could have happened somewhere else entirely but for some reason, Prince Harry decided that home was the best place to ask the former actress to be his wife.

According to The Express, royal author Katie Nichol was told by one of Harry’s friends that he had been planning on Botswana but for some reason, this didn’t go ahead.

“I had actually been told by one of his friends that he had planned to pop the question in Botswana but for whatever reason, he didn’t”.

The couple went on safari there and it was also where the prince sourced one of the diamonds for his wife’s spectacular three-stone engagement ring.

During their time in South Africa, they worked with the organisation Elephants Without borders and camped under the stars.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex spoke about the romantic proposal when they gave a TV interview just after their big news was announced to the world in November 2017.

During the interview, Meghan said that she barely let him get the words out, she was so eager to say yes and you can see the very sweet interview in the below clip.

Instead of getting down on one knee in a romantic far-flung romantic location, Harry did so while they were making roast chicken with his other half, awwww.
