Prince William reveals his nickname for Princess Charlotte and it is just adorable

As fans of the royal family are aware, most of them have some form of a nickname – at least, among each other.

Prince George and Princess Charlotte reportedly call Prince Charles “Grandpa Wales”and Prince Phillip is said to refer to Queen Elizabeth as “cabbage”.

Meanwhile, Prince Phillip is said to call his daughter-in-law, Meghan Markle, Tungsten – yes, really.

Meghan reportedly calls Queen Elizabeth “Queen Mama, and refers to Prince Harry as “my love”.

And Prince William is said to refer to Kate Middleton as “poppet”, while she calls him “my love”.

Prince George even has one for himself.

Now, Prince William has revealed his nickname for Princess Charlotte – and it may be our favourite one yet.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge took their children on a tour of Kate’s specially designed garden at the Chelsea Flower Show earlier this week.

Kensington Palace shared footage of the family exploring the Back to Nature garden earlier this week.

Eagle-eyed fans were quick to notice that when Prince William called his daughter over, asking her to give him a push, he didn’t call her Charlotte – he called her Mignoette.

The nickname is derived from the French word mignon, meaning small, cute or sweet – and fans couldn’t cope after they found out about the name.

Elsewhere in the clip, Prince William asked Prince George to rank his mum’s garden design out of 10 – and the 5-year-old had some (suitably adorable) thoughts.

The Duke of Cambridge asked him:

“What would you give it out of 10, George? How many marks out of 10 would you give it? With 10 being the highest.”

After his son ranked it 20/10, Prince William laughed and told him:

“That’s pretty good. I think Mummy’s done well.”
