This is the sweet reason why Prince William won't be with Kate Middleton for her birthday this week
The lovely Kate Middleton will celebrate her 37th birthday this week, on Wednesday January 9th.
As a member of the royal family, we kind of just assumed that there would be a lavish party and all that jazz.
But apparently Kate will spend her birthday at home with her family.
However, Prince William will not be able to celebrate with his wife.
Rather, William will be carrying out his first official royal engagement of 2019, involving a charity very close to his heart.
The Duke of Cambridge will attend an event marking 30 years of London’s Air Ambulance at the Royal London Hospital in east London.
This is a cause very close to Prince William, who worked as an air ambulance pilot with the East Anglian Air Ambulance from 2014-2017.
A tweet from Kensington Palace confirmed William's attendance:
“The Duke of Cambridge will visit @LDNairamb on Wednesday 9th January to recognise the work that their first responders carry out delivering life-saving treatment across London.”
So, Kate Middleton will be ringing in 37 with her children.
Who knows, maybe the whole Middleton clan will also come and celebrate!
Happy Birthday Kate.
