The new series will return to our screens shortly.

With a new season of Strictly Come Dancing fast approaching, the list of celebrities rumoured to be taking part is ever growing.

Yes, with many more slots to be filled, the first stars are being announced and one name is causing a bit of upset.

Steps star Faye Tozer was revealed to be taking part in the show this week despite having years of experience as a dancer.

Yes, the 42-year-old not only learned the ropes during her time in the 90s pop group, she also took part in many West End shows including Singin’ in the Rain, Over the Rainbow and Tell Me on a Sunday.

The singer is a dab hand when it comes to ballet, ballroom, burlesque, salsa and tap dance and viewers think that will, naturally, give her a leg-up in the competition.

“Few in the past have had quite so much professional performance time as Faye,” a TV insider told The Sun.

“Everyone expects her to be a strong contender but it will raise more questions over whether it’s fair for someone who has danced professionally to be up against people with no experience.”

While the BBC has yet to confirm any of the names of those taking part, Faye looks likely to appear on the upcoming season and if her CV is anything to go by, she’s going to be brilliant!
