Study reveals a baby’s cry can predict what they’ll sound like in the future

Well, this is pretty interesting.

When our children are still babies, we often wonder what the future will hold for them. What job will they have? What will they look like? What will their interests be?

A new study has revealed that a baby’s cry could predict what they might sound like when they’re adults.

The studies, which took place across the UK and France saw that from a previous study, you could predict what a child would sound like at age 7 – but these researchers wanted to know if you could predict what a baby would sound like aged 4 months.

So, researchers listened to previous recordings of babies (with parents consent) and linked back up with as many as they could five years later.

Professor at the University of Lyon in France and co-author the study, Nicolas Mathevon, spoke to The New York Times about the research saying: ‘In utero, you have a lot of different things that can alter and impact your life – not only as a baby, but also at an adult stage.

”This explains a lot, but not all,” he added. “It’s only half the story I would say.”

Pretty interesting, all the same.
