Teacher had the most thoughtful gift to calm kids’ nerves on first day of school

5 ways to make the school run as smooth as possible in the morning

The back-to-school season can be tough.

But one teacher has gone above and beyond to make sure her students – who are starting school for the first time – start the week with ease.

Or, at least, with a bit of sparkle.

Mum Jayne Hardy, who founded the mental health charity Blurt, took to social media and shared a photo of the small package that her daughter, Peggy, had received ahead of the big day.

She explained that – along with a lovely poem – the teacher had sent a bag of ‘jitter glitter’, which was meant to be sprinkled underneath a pillow.

The poem explained that some children may be feeling a bit anxious before they head to school for the first time, and encouraged them to sprinkle some glitter underneath the pillow before they go to sleep.

The glitter is meant to help the students-to-be “sleep through the night, letting you wake up feeling fresh and bright.”

Peggy’s mum captioned the post:

“Peggy is starting school this week and has just received a letter from her teacher with a bag of ‘jitter glitter’ to put under her pillow to help with any nerves she might have.

“I can’t get over how thoughtful this is”.
