There’s a new crime drama from the makers of Love/Hate coming to RTÉ

This could be huge.

It has been a few years now since pretty much all of Ireland was caught up in the criminal drama of Nidge, Trish, Fran and the rest of the Love/Hate crew.

We now finally have word on what the folks behind that show have up their sleeve for their next production, and it could be a biggie.

As initially revealed by RTÉ, the producers behind Love/Hate have been granted a €350,000 award by the Broadcasting Authority Of Ireland as part of the latest round of licence fee funding under the Sound & Vision scheme.

The new series is titled Taken Down, and will be six-part contemporary crime series written by acclaimed Irish crime novelist Jo Spain, who is the creator of the Tom Reynolds novel series (With Our Blessing, Sleeping Beauties, etc.), as well as the standalone hit The Confession.

It will be produced by Spiral Pictures, which is led by company director Suzanne McAuley (producer of Love/Hate), as well as company director Stuart Carolan (creator of Love/Hate), and fellow company director David Caffrey (director of multiple episodes of Love/Hate).

We fully expect more details to be revealed once pre-production fully gears up, but considering how big a hit Love/Hate turned out to be, and the huge careers all of the major characters had afterwards, we also fully expect some big names to be attracted to this project.
