Thomas Markle issues warning as he says ‘arrogant’ Prince Harry needs to ‘man up’

Meghan Markle’s father, Thomas, has warned he will keep speaking to the media about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex if they don’t get in contact with him soon.

The 74-year-old has not spoken to his daughter since her wedding to Prince Harry in May 2018. He has given a number of interviews since, seemingly trying to encourage her to reach out to him.

The former Hollywood lighting director has now said that he won’t “become a monk in a monastery and take a vow of silence” as he took aim at “arrogant” Prince Harry.

In his latest string of interviews, Thomas told The Sun that while he knows he’s made mistakes, he thinks Prince Harry needs to “man up and get over it.”

He added:

“If I’m the first person who’s insulted you or hurt your feelings, you’ve got a long way to go.

“He’s human just like the rest of us. I feel that he feels he is above everyone else and that he has a right to talk down to people.

“And I can’t accept that. It feels like arrogance.”

Thomas went on to say that his interviews with the press were so that he could stick up for his family, after they have received numerous insulting messages on social media.

He added that he believes they have done nothing that warrants the continued silence from Meghan and Harry.

He said:

“I’ve been quiet long enough.

“If they ever want to speak to me, maybe I’ll quieten down a little bit. But in the meantime I’m not going to become a monk in a monastery and take a vow of silence.

“The bottom line is that I’ve done nothing to deserve this kind of treatment. I cannot cut my tongue out and never speak again. I can’t shut up because they have opened the door for a million people to criticise me and my family.”
