What Prince George and Princess Charlotte are expected to wear for the royal wedding

There are certain traditions for British royal weddings.

It’s the beginning of March, meaning we’re a little over two months away from Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding.

The couple are due to marry on 19 May in Windsor and while details of the big day are thin on the ground, there’s lots of speculation as to who Meghan might choose to have in her bridal party.

Two people almost sure to get the nod are her soon-to-be niece and nephew Princess Charlotte and Prince George.

The pair played a role when their aunt Pippa tied the knot last May, wearing adorable traditional flower girl and page boy outfits.

If they’re part of Meghan and Harry’s ceremony, they’ll likely be in the same type of clothing, according to one royal expert.

“In British royal weddings, flower girls usually wear long silk dresses with puff sleeves and a sash tying in a big bow at the back,” designer Stephanie Staub told Brides.com.

“Depending on the age of the page boys, we can expect them to wear silk breeches if they are young of age, or trousers if a bit older. A cummerbund and a Peter Pan collar or officer collar shirt completes the look.

“Both Princess Diana’s and Kate Middleton’s flower girls, for example, wore ivory silk flower girl dresses, with their page boys donning military jackets.”

That said, Meghan is not from a royal background and might want to put more of a modern stamp on her big day.

“I think she’ll have her flower girls and page boys wear very elegant outfits,” said Stephanie.

“Since she is also a modern woman, I don’t expect her to look for something too conventional.”

We can’t wait to see them on the day!
