Paul Moore

Now it’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas.

“Chestnuts roasting on an open fire
Jack Frost nipping at your nose
Yuletide carols being sung by a choir
And alpacas dressed up like Eskimos.”

Ok, we’re not sure if the alpacas at the Wicklow Christmas Market will be dressed up, but man alive are revellers going to be excited to see their furry faces this Christmas.

Oh yes, those living in, or adjacent to, the Garden County will be delighted to know that the Christmas Market is returning to Wicklow and it’s set to be bigger than ever.

For those curious, Wicklow Christmas Market is held within the Abbey Grounds in Wicklow town.

This year sees the the addition of a Santa Express experience where Oribel, their mischievous and fun elf, will transport guests on a magical journey aboard the Santa Express train to Santa’s Wonderland.

To make things even better, festive alpacas will be lifting spirits at the markets because you have the chance to get up close and pet these beautiful creatures.

There’s also going to be a magical funfair, live music, and entertainment every weekend to enjoy this festive season. Craft stalls, local artisan foods, and gift stalls will be available too.

The Wicklow Christmas Markets will be held this year on the 23, 24 and 30 of November. In terms of December’s dates, you can visit on December 1, 7, 8, 14 and 15 from 12pm-6pm.
