You’ll never store your food in plastic again thanks to these genius new reusable bags

Trine Jensen-Burke

I don’t know about you, but I am trying my best to live as plastic free as possible, both for the planet and also, most importantly, for my family’s long-term health.

This summer saw us collectively become a lot more concerned about the effect plastic is having on our oceans, sea animals and world at large. And the reality is that for our own wellness, plastic, no matter how safe the producers claim it is, is a huge health hazard.

In the past few months, massive companies and corporations, like Starbucks, McDonald’s, and Disney, have all commited to banning plastic straws and replace them with more reusable and environmentally friendly counterparts, but more needs to be done.

And now, you’ll be happy to know, you can bid farewell to all your plastic storage containers and sandwhich bags too, thanks to Stashers.

Made of platinum silicone, Stashers are the first-ever self-sealing, airtight, plastic-free bags in the world. Created by entrepreneur Kat Nouri, the reusable, dishwasher-friendly bags can be baked, boiled, thrown in the microwave, and frozen. But as Nouri points out in the video, they can also be used in any situation where you would typically reach for a plastic bag, e.g., when organizing or storing your makeup, hair products, electronics, toiletries, spare change, and whatever else you would have previously put into something made out of plastic.

“The average person in the U.S. is using 525 baggies per year. That’s 1.7 billion baggies that go into landfills,” Nouri explains. “This generation want to make sure that whatever money they’re spending on specific products goes back into protecting the environment. We’re trying to provide a better alternative from the get-go.”

Not surprisingly, the Stasher bags are already an Amazon best seller. The bags come in nine different colorways and designs, in addition to three different sizes: snack, sandwich, and half-gallon.

Just watch this video on the many ways you can use the Stasher bags, and we bet you’ll be placing an order too:
