Two soaps are going to be clashing on New Year’s Day and noooo

Tragic.

The festive season is always decent enough when it comes to soaps.

You’ve got your Corrie, you’ve got your EastEnders, you’ve got your Fair City, probably.

Loads to see, lots to do.

However, if you’re mad into your soaps and nothing else the following news is sure to devastate, horrify, and just generally ruin your entire holiday season to be quite honest with you.

Because Coronation Street and EastEnders are clashing on New Year’s Day, and the world might just be over as we know it.

Both programmes will air their hour long specials on January 1 2019 at 8pm and sorry, who do they think they are putting the two most popular soaps (excluding Emmerdale) on at the same time?

An absolutely harrowing situation.

That is, unless, you’re not actually bothered with watching EastEnders because yeah, honestly, that show hasn’t really been all that entertaining since about 2008.

You’d be forgiven for skipping the lads over at Albert Square performing another nativity scene for the eighth year in a row, to be honest.

If you, for some reason, can’t decide which soap you want to watch though, here’s what’s going to be going down on both around that time.

EastEnders will see Alfie deal with some secret baby news and Coronation Street will see Liz deal with some equally stressful scenarios too.

Can’t wait.
