Newlyweds arrested on their wedding night for the worst reason

Not the best way to end the day.

That’s one way to spend your wedding night…

Anyone looking forward to getting married will surely have dreamed about it for months beforehand, but getting arrested is unlikely to be part of anyone’s dream big day.

That’s what happened to a couple in Edmonton, Canada, this week who spent their first night as man and wife in a cell.

The newlyweds were arrested for their involvement in a bar fight the night of their wedding.

It’s not known how the row broke out, but it started inside Denizen Hall bar in the town and spilled out into the street.

Witnesses told Canadian station CTV that the bride played an active role in the fracas.

“The bride is just swinging and the melee ends up on the sidewalk,” said one.

“As we’re watching you just see this girl in a wedding dress right in the middle of it,” another added.

While no-one was injured in the incident, the bride was handcuffed and charged with assault, while her groom was charged with mischief (a pretty funny-sounding crime, if we’re honest).

Onlookers captured the whole thing on camera and the images soon did the rounds online.
