Connor McIntyre has paid a touching tribute to a Coronation Street superfan who died in the Manchester terror attack.

Martyn Hett was one of the 22 people who was killed during the bombing of an Ariana Grande concert last year.

The one year anniversary of the attack took place yesterday, May 22.

McIntyre, who plays the notorious Pat Phelan, took to Twitter to share a photo of himself and Martyn when they met previously.

He included the hashtags ‘Be More Martyn’ and ‘Manchester Together.’

McIntyre is among the many Coronation Street stars who have paid tribute to the fan since his passing last year.

A commemorative bench in Martyn’s name was also added to the new set that includes Victoria Street.

The plaque on the bench reads: “For Martyn and all those who lost their lives on the 22nd May 2017.”

Martyn’s friends this week launched their stage performance ‘Be More Martyn’ in memory of their friend.

The show features eight actors playing Martyn’s real friends and is a celebration of the things that he loved.

It also makes reference to Martyn’s leg tattoo of Deirdre Barlow – a piece that gained him thousands of followers on Twitter prior to his death.
