Corrie viewers shocked as crash victim dies a gruesome death

Jade Hayden

It’s been an intense couples of hours.

It seems like about eight years ago that the lads over at Coronation Street decided to start teasing this crash.

There’s been trailers, there’s been multiple supposed deaths, there’s been an unnecessary amount of tension that we’re not at all supportive of but we’re still going along with because we have to.

And earlier tonight, it looked as Leanne Battersby was done for when Ronan decided to ram into her from behind, leaving her to apparently die on the road.

Very intense scenes altogether.

This all kicked off when Michelle tried to get Ryan and Ali out of the town due to the fact that Ronan was after them all because of Ryan’s involvement in his son’s death.

The car cut out though because Tracy Barlow had tampered with it for reasons that have very little to do with this storyline at all, and yet here we are.

Ryan exited the car and decided to confront Ronan himself, but your man didn’t really seem to care and he just ran him over anyway.

He was going for round two (of the running over) when Michelle got out of the car and said he would have to go through her first.

It was then that he pulled out a gun and went to reverse a bit… when he smashed into Leanne.

Ronan then lost control of the car and drove into a fence, impaling himself on it.

Ali rushed over to see what had happened, only to find that the piece of wood Ronan was impaled on was the only thing keeping him alive.

The doctor weighed up his options, eventually realising that keeping Ronan alive was too dangerous because he would never see jail time for what he had done.

So, he decided to remove the piece of fence and let Ronan bleed out.

Harrowing.

Viewers were, understandably, shocked enough by the scenes.

But in the end they pretty much agreed that Ali had to do what he had to do.
