Corrie’s new cheating storyline sounds like it’s going to be messy

Just be faithful to your partners, plz.

Now that Phelan has been taken care of and Bethany’s not being tied up in a basement, there’s a limited number of things that can happen in Weatherfield to shake things up.

Sure, everyone could just live in perfect harmony and have a nice time for a while but that is simply not the ITV soap way and we should never be so naive to think that it would be.

So in order to incite a bit of drama, writers have decided to try and split Steve and Tracy up. Again

Sake.

In upcoming episodes, Steve will share a kiss with Abi after she gets a bit drunk at the tram station and says her life is falling apart or whatever.

According to Sally Carmen, who plays Abi, she feels a “connection” with Steve because they’ve both lost children in the past.

She said:

“There is an instant bond there after that, he makes her feel like a human being who has just messed up a little bit and she reaches forward and kisses him.

“He doesn’t expect it but I don’t think he altogether hates it either…”

Things only get more dramatic from there on in when Tracy shows up to take drunk Abi home while Steve inevitably sits there acting like he’s done nothing wrong.

Not ideal.

This comes after another one of our favourite, deeply iconic couples were rocked by a cheating storyline.

Things looked fairly rough for Kirk and Beth a while back when newcomer Sharon showed up and started kissing Kirk on the cheek and buying him clothes and stuff.

And Kirk, being a bit helpless as he is wont to be, didn’t really know what to do about it all until his good friend Tyrone stepped in.

We have more faith in Steve to get out of this scenario himself (he is a grown man, after all), but at the same time, he’s also been married about 90 times since Coronation Street began.

Not holding our breath, tbh.
