The Corrie moment we’ve been waiting for finally happened last night

Deserved.

David Platt finally got his revenge on rapist Josh Tucker.

Last year, the mechanic drugged and attacked David, leaving him acting out, struggling to cope with romantic relationships, and traumatised.

Eventually, David went to the police but nothing could be done about Josh’s assault due to a lack of evidence.

The hairdresser had considered taking matters into his own hands, but last night it became clear that he didn’t have to because somebody else had already gotten there before him.

During yesterday evening’s instalment of the soap, David heard that Josh had been beaten up by another man who he was trying to drug and rape.

The man in question attacked Josh, leaving him badly beaten and blind as a result of a brain injury.

Upon hearing the news, David rushed to the hospital to speak to his attacker who was unconscious at the time.

He said that he wanted the mechanic dead, but that he wasn’t going to throw his life away. Instead, he gave an impassioned speech about how he would never forgive Josh for what he did to him.

He said:

“I wonder if this is how you felt when I was unconscious?

“You could do what you wanted to do to me just like I can do what I want to you. Wonder what will happen if I switch this machine off, or pull these wires out. You couldn’t stop me just like I couldn’t stop you.”

David went on to describe how easy it would be to end Josh’s life, but that he wasn’t going to be the one to do it.

Instead, he would rather leave him fighting for his life and blind.

David went on:

“I’d love to watch you die, and I’ve fantasised at how I’d kill you. I probably wouldn’t have chosen to do it like this, but it’ll do. Just to know that you’re not here anymore.

“I pity you but at the same time I want you to die.”

“I want you to die so much but it’s not me who’s going to do it. I’ve got too much to lose, I’ve got a life to live. And I’m not going to throw that away because of you.”

Although David will still inevitably be dealing with the effects of his attack for years to come, the knowledge that Josh will never be able to assault anyone again must come as some relief.
