23 years after her first appearance on Emmerdale, Lisa Dingle is set to be killed off the show.
And we’re pretty devo about it to be honest.
The fan favourite, played by actress Jane Cox, has not been seen in Emmerdale since April of last year.
She returned tonight to reveal that she has a devastating terminal heart condition.
In the episode Lisa asked her niece, Charity to prepare her eulogy, which means we all need to prepare our farewells.
Speaking about her exit, Jane said that she would “shed a few tears” while filming her final scenes and that she would “miss her”.
“Lisa is so close to my heart as she’s been such a huge part of my life for the past more than 23 years.”
“So I know I will shed more than a few tears when it comes to filming her final scenes.”
“But I’m really looking forward to my return to the show to tell this story and to give the character of Lisa a deserving farewell. I will miss her.”
Up until her break from the show last year, Jane had the most appearances from a female actress in the show to date since first stepping into the village in 1996.
She’ll be missed.
