Kate Middleton and the Queen are going on their first solo outing in seven years

How has it been so long?

It has been announced that Kate Middleton and Queen Elizabeth will be going on a rare public outing this month.

The Duchess of Cambridge will join the Queen at Kings College London, where they will reopen Bush House following a renovation.

Obviously, the two have been on a number of outings in the past, but this will only be the second joint one ever.

Weird, in our opinion.

In 2012, less than a year after Kate’s marriage to William, the Duchess and the Queen made a number of stops in Leicester as part of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee tour of the UK.

Since then, though, the two have not been on a joint outing.

The upcoming event will be carried out on 19 March.

Queen Elizabeth will officially open Bush House, which was previously the headquarters for BBC World Service.

However, the building is currently being leased by Kings College London.

The Queen is the patron to the college, so it makes sense that she would attend the official opening.

And speaking of official joint engagements with the Queen, Meghan Markle has only been on one.

In June of last year, the Duchess of Sussex visited Cheshire with the Queen, just weeks after the royal wedding.

It was pretty special though, as Meghan travelled with the Queen on her private train.
