A mum has expressed her anger online after discovering that Instagram had removed a photo of her son because it didn’t “meet their guidelines.”

Charlie Beswick’s son, Harry, has Goldenhar syndrome which means that he was born with a facial deformity.

The 12-year-old Stoke-on-Trent native has no left eye-socket, nostril, and a short jaw.

Mum Charlie regularly shares photos of herself, Harry, and her other son Oliver online.

However this week, her latest family snap was removed.

Charlie, who also runs a blog called Our Altered Life, took to social media to criticise Instagram’s decision to remove the photo.

“What do you see when you look at my boy?” she wrote.

“I see the most beautiful smile, wonderful heart & purest love.

Sadly some people on Instagram feel that it’s too much to look at and have reported a picture of him (again).

If someone hates to look at my child then I have 2 things to say a) scroll past and b) you’re an arsehole.

I’m beyond disgusted. Instagram need to rectify this discrimination!!”

Charlie then reposted the original image of herself and Harry on Instagram, saying that if anyone was “offended” by her son’s face, they should scroll past.

She also added that they should be ashamed of themselves.

The post’s on the Our Altered Family accounts have already gained much support from thousands of social media users, with many of them calling on Instagram to issue an apology to Charlie.

Charlie, Harry, and Oliver are set to appear on Good Morning Britain tomorrow morning.
