Ryan Tubridy received the cutest letter from an eight-year-old fan ahead of the Toy Show

Did you tune in?

Last Friday, most of the nation tuned in to RTÉ to see Ryan Tubridy dress as a lobster and sing The Little Mermaid tunes.

Yes, it was The Late Late Toy Show.

And now, it has been revealed that more than 1.3 million people watched it, making it the most watched TV show in Ireland in 2017.

Throughout the show, the average audience was 1.2 million watching live, while the audience peaked at 1,732,500 viewers.

Speaking about the news, Ryan said: “It never ceases to amaze me how many people hold The Late Late Toy Show so dear.

“The fact that so many people let us become part of their world over the weekend is really heartening and the reaction I have been getting from people since the show has been overwhelming.”

Did he slyly add a Little Mermaid reference in there? Sneaky, Ryan.

According to RTÉ, 9 out of ten children in Ireland tuned in on Friday night, with more than 134,000 viewers watching on RTÉ Player on Saturday.
