Parents in the States are paying hundreds, if not thousands, to have celebrities record messages for their kids.
Using an app called Cameo you can access a number of high profile celebrities that will record a message for you or someone you know but it often comes with a hefty price tag.
The site has everyone from Film and TV stars, to musicians and even well known YouTube and internet stars.
While there are many celebrities available under the €100 mark many others cost well over €1,000 for a short recording.
Parents hoping to make their child’s birthday or other milestone celebrations extra special are dishing out the dosh to make sure they get their child’s idol on the phone and hey to each their own.
Some celebrities featured on the site have said in their bios that even though they charge for the message all of the money they make through the site is donated to charity which I think is a lovely gesture.
I’m not quite sure if I’m going to be taking out any bank loans to get one of the big stars on the phone there is still a litany of more budget-friendly stars that I would be tempted to get a message from.
