Only time will tell.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are getting married this weekend, just in case you didn’t know or something.
In the lead up to the wedding, there’s been much speculation about many things.
Everything from what Meghan will wear to who among her mates she will invite has been scrutinised, but the one element of the wedding that is still very much up in the air is who will walk the soon-to-be member of the royal family down the aisle.
This week, Meghan’s dad Thomas revealed that he had decided not to attend the wedding as he didn’t want to “embarrass” his daughter after he was caught selling photos of himself to a news agency.
Then, however, Thomas said that he was going to do his best to go – that was until he stated that he was having heart surgery and would no longer be able to travel.
Meghan’s mother, Doria, flew into London today in preparation for Saturday, but it still remains to be seen as to who will walk Meghan down the aisle.
People on Twitter, however, have some suggestions… and they think it should be Prince Charles that does it if Doria doesn’t want to.
According to them, Charles would be a good shout for a few reasons.
The first is because he doesn’t have any daughters of his own so it would be nice for him to get a go at walking someone down the aisle.
The second is because Charles has stepped in last minute and walked someone down the aisle before.
Back in 2016, he walked family friend Alexandra Knatchbull down the aisle due to her strained relationship with her own father.
And the third is because they think it would be a nice welcome-to-the-family for Meghan.
Lovely.
Megan's father will no longer be at royal wedding. So – who will go with Meghan down the aisle? I hope for Prince Charles because he has no other official duty during the wedding and I see it as a beautiful gesture in a vulnerable situation for Meghan and Harry ❤️ pic.twitter.com/fkV1IKg5eq

Agreed!!
But, I would love if Prince Charles walked Meghan Markle down the aisle as well, having no daughters, it would be his one and only time doing it. And be sending a powerful message ‘She’s is to be loved as my daughter as of today’ ❣️#RoyalWedding#HarryandMeghan— Princessnpearls🖤 (@princessnpearls) May 16, 2018
Re #RoyalWedding2018 : if Meghan's father is unwell:
1. Her mother can walk her down the aisle (it's 2018, it doesn't have to be her dad!)
2. Prince Charles would also do it, to show solidarity.
Obviously I am sharing critically important news thoughts with you! ;-)— Charlotte Morgan (@Charlottemorg) May 16, 2018
