A Chinese policewoman has received praise after she breastfed a hungry baby while it’s mother was in court.
Photos taken by the woman’s colleague show officer, Lina Hao, feeding the baby outside a courtroom in northern China’s Shanxi Province.
Chinese media outlets are reporting that Lina first asked for permission to feed the woman’s four-month-old baby, as she cried with hunger.
According to The Global Times, Lina said: “The baby wouldn’t stop crying and we were all worried.
“I am a new mother, I could feel how anxious the child’s mother would have been. All I thought about was to try my best and comfort the tiny baby.
“If I had been the mother, I would have hoped someone would help my baby too,” she added.
The publication claims that the child’s mother pleaded guilty to charges of fraud, embezzlement and concealment of illegal gains.
