And yes, Hilary Swank is starring in it too.

Cecelia Ahern has confirmed that the sequel to PS, I Love You will be made into a film.

The author’s eagerly anticipated new novel, Postscript, was finally released today, giving fans of the first book the chance to find out what happened to Holly six years on from her first posthumous husband-based letter hunt.

And along with the book came the news that the sequel is, indeed, going to be made into a move too.

Delightful.

The writer told The Pat Kenny Show on Newstalk today that Swank had been in touch to tell her she would absolutely be down for reprising her role all these years later.

“Hilary Swank emailed me straight after the news emerged that I was writing Postscript,” she said.

“She was so supportive and said ‘I’d love to read the book’ anything I can do I will which was so lovely of her.

“And she read it and instantly we were back in again, we all decided we definitely wanted to do this again.”

Ahern said that although the film is in the “very early stages,” it is definitely happening – and to be honest that’s good enough for us.

“Hilary is back and Alcon Films, who produced it,” she said. “It’s really lovely to meet everyone again after so much time.”

“We haven’t got a screen writer or director, which we need, but it’s going to happen.”

Excellent news altogether.
