There’s a floating apartment in the West of Ireland and it’s absolute ‘house goals’

Melissa Carton

This floating apartment is seriously dream home goals.

Ark floating homes are located on the Tara Marina in County Roscommon and can be rented for vacation or bought as a home.

The first of their kind in Ireland, these apartments are perfect for house hunters looking for something different.

I’m just wondering if I could float it up to Dublin every morning for work, because if so I’m sold!

Not apparent from the outside, this fully floating apartment has two double ensuite bedrooms, a living room/dining area/kitchen, forward deck, rooftop garden and a floating boardwalk surrounding the Ark.

Though Ireland isn’t known for it’s sunshine, if we have a summer next year like we did this year can you imagine lounging outside on your own personal floating roof garden?

I spend a lot of time in the West of Ireland so one concern I had with the idea of a river side apartment was the cold weather. According to the Ark’s website though, these apartments are specially made to withstand the Irish weather.

Even if you’re not house hunting, these apartments would make great holiday accommodation, with or without the kids. I actually think it would be a great spot for a ‘mini-moon’ or an anniversary break away.

There are no prices listed on Ark’s website but if you fancy living the nautical life you can find out more about these unique apartments by emailing info@arkfloatinghomes.ie.
