Warning, you may not sleep tonight after seeing this.
I’ve met a lot of people who find dolls creepy but this doll takes creepy to the next level and reminds me of those toys from the first Toy Story movie that Sid used to make.
To be honest I wouldn’t be surprised if it gets its own horror movie down the line, Annabelle hasn’t got a patch on this.
Can you imagine that coming out from under your bed in the middle of the night?
An aniamotronic crawling baby doll from 1871, I can appreciate the skill and technology that went into this toy, but you know, from afar.
Victorian dolls have a habit of turning up in every haunted house movie and for good reason. They’re just straight up creepy.
I ended up in a bad situation as a kid when someone bought me a porcelain doll and out of politeness I said I liked it. This led to everyone in my family thinking I loved them and me having a huge collection of porcelain dolls that absolutely terrified me and they didn’t even crawl (that I know of).
I’m sort of on the fence with dolls as a parent. My little girl has a toddler sized Cinderella which I think is cute but baby dolls I’ve just never been a huge fan of.
Maybe I’m still traumatised from the time a relative of mine bought me a baby doll that laughed when you pressed it but it broke after falling in water and would go off by itself in the middle of the night. I also find the really realistic baby dolls terrifying and won’t be investing in one for my daughter anytime soon.
Looking back I didn’t have many positive doll experiences.
Regardless of how I feel about modern day dolls one thing is for sure, no one is beating the Victorian creeping doll in the scary doll contest anytime soon.
You’d really have to wonder what parents back then were thinking to invest in one of those nightmare babies.
Now if you’ll excuse me I have to go check under my bed.
