The most travelled member of the royal family will surprise you

Intrigued?

Well, this news came as a shock.

Being a member of the royal family comes with a lot of royal duties. From public appearances to overseas trips, the royals are constantly kept busy on their feet but, the busiest royal of all for 2017 might come as a surprise for you.

It certainly did for us.

As the younger royals are the ones forever photographed, you’d expect one of them to be the most travelled in 2017 but, you’d be wrong. The award for most travels overseas in 2017 actually went to Prince Charles.

Yep, according to Majesty Magazine, Charles spent a LOT of the time out of the country with a staggering 172 official overseas tours.

This includes some small trips as well as much larger ones to Australia, Italy and a two-week tour of India, Singapore, Brunei and Malaysia. Impressive – leaving his royal travel bill to a total of over £1 million for that year alone.

And Prince William or Harry didn’t even make it to second or third place on the list. Prince William attended 54 overseas events in 2017 while Prince Harry attended 70.

Kate Middleton also only attended 54 overseas events in 2017 and this could be due to her pregnancy and sickness. Many now speculate how many trips Meghan Markle will attend in the next year now that she’s officially the Duchess of Sussex.

Meghan and Harry will undertake an overseas tour as a married couple next month. The pair will travel to Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and Tonga over 16 days from 16 October to 31 October.

We’re prepared to see plenty of PDA and stunning threads from these two loved-up royals.
