Wedding guest annoyed by this bride’s ‘unreasonable’ requests

Really, girl?

Planning a wedding takes a lot of effort.

Attending a wedding takes a lot of effort too.

You’ve got to decide between a gift and money, get an outfit, plan your way of getting there, book a hotel room, move around plans, hope that you get drunk enough to not have to deal with family members you haven’t seen in eight years.

The last thing people need then, is the bride making things even more awkward for people.

And this bride is absolutely making things more awkward.

According to Mumsnet user BlueButTrue, one bride has some very unreasonable requests for her would-be wedding guests.

She’s sent them a Save the Date, but she wants them to save multiple dates.

She’s also requested that they wear orange, white, and “maybe pink” colours.

Right.

BlueButTrue wrote:

“Cousin is getting married and she’s sent out her ‘save the date’ thing, instead it’s plural… It’s save the dates!

“She’s put a few different dates down, not evening explaining why etc. Just begins with: ‘Here are our dates we’re considering. Put those plans on hold!’ All our love.’

“Furthermore, she’s ended it with ‘Top hint: Keep colour schemes orange/white or maybe pink in mind’ – Yes, that’s right. She said maybe.

“Am I being unreasonable to say this is very odd?!”

You are not, BlueButTrue.

You are not.

Users of the parenting forum didn’t think so either.

“This is bizarre,” wrote one person. “And wtf is the point in telling you to keep a colour scheme in mind? Is she expecting you to go spend money on two outfits so you are ready for whichever scheme she goes with?”

“I think ‘save the date’ is weird anyway,” said another. “Just book it and send out an invitation. How many jobs do people want to give themselves to do?”

BlueButTrue has not yet confirmed whether she’s saved all of her dates… or if she’s planning on going to the wedding at all.

We can probably assume not.
