As a boy mama I’m not sure what to think about this new parenting product

Melissa Carton

Check this out…

Some parenting products I love, some I hate and some I’m really on the fence with.

This product definitely falls under the latter because I’m really not sure what to think about it and when you see it I think you’ll understand what I mean.

Now I can see where they were coming from with this product, as it could be handy on long drives if you aren’t able to pull over, which can often be the case.

My main concern, and it’s even written in the post, is that it looks too much like a flask.

I can imagine many a mishap happening in the car with one of these rolling around. No, just no.

Parents commenting on the original post also pointed out that you could just use a wide neck bottle for a long car journey and I have to agree with them. You’re also more likely to be able to tell the contents of a clear plastic bottle.

But there’s a twist, this portable loo isn’t just for boys…it’s for girls too.

While boys will always have the advantage when it comes to being able to go to the toilet while travelling, for girls it’s a lot more difficult to use anything apart from a regular bathroom.

Again I can see what they’re trying to do, and it is a good idea, I just don’t know how practical this would be to use for a girl while in a moving vehicle.

The side of the road maybe, but then, in that case, you’re already out in the open so you may as well just go in a bush.

In the car itself, it’s just going to end up being a pee massacre and the entire car will be absolutely destroyed.

Personally, I think I’ll pass on this one but what do you think?

Is this something that you would find useful or do you think it should go in the unnecessary parenting product pile?
