Calling all Dublin city bookworms! There is now a library box on the Coombe

Melissa Carton

Such an amazing idea!

I was walking my son to school the other day when I spotted this and I had to stop and take a photo.

There is now a gorgeous new library box on the Coombe in Dublin city centre near BIMM music school.

The idea behind the library box has existed in many countries including the U.S and the U.K for a while but now more and more are popping up in Irish towns and cities.

This is the first one that I’ve seen in Dublin and I’m delighted to see it so close to several primary schools and homework clubs, as it will give lots of children a chance to take part.

Library boxes work on the principle that you give a book for every book that you take, that way there will always be something in the box for someone else to read.

I think it’s a really great idea and I can’t wait to have a look when I get home and see what books we have to donate to the cause.

Have you seen any library boxes in your local area?
