Mums share great hacks to prevent kids for asking for snacks all day long
Since the country was asked to go into self isolation last week my children have been eating me out of house and home.
This has meant going to the store every second day to replenish things like fruit and yogurts which sort of defeats the doing the self isolation in the first place.
Of course I should have known that mums well known for their parenting hacks would come up with a trick to stop children who are being home schooled asking for snacks all day long.
I found two hacks online on how to curb this problem.
The first was the very clever suggestion of making their regular school lunch for them to eat during what would be their normal school hours.
If it's enough food to keep full during their normal school day then it's enough food to keep them full while they are at home for the day.
This next hack I feel would work best for my home and children as my youngest child doesn't attend school yet so she isn't used to a packed lunch.
This mum suggests creating baskets for each of your children's with their snacks for the day and once the snacks are gone they're gone;
"Each child has their own colored basket. In the morning I put their snacks in it for the day, when those snacks are gone they don’t get any more. It makes them stop and think do I really need a snack? I also put their cup for the day in there because I’m not washing 50 cups a day!"
Since the self isolation started last week it feels like their hasn't been two minutes without someone asking me for a drink or a snack so I'm definitely going to be implementing these tips in my own home.
