Toddlers – they’re not known for their thoughtfulness, but every now and again they can completely surprise you.
The internet is currently cooing over a very sweet video of a toddler feeding his mum in a restaurant while she breastfeeds him.
The clip shows Paula Goodwin, from South Carolina in the US, feeding her 18-month-old son Zachary at a Mexican restaurant.
Zachary, keen to make sure that his mum is taken care of while he’s eating, can be seen putting chips in her mouth.
Paula actually recorded the clip in June of 2016 but it only went viral when it was picked up by the Breastfeeding Mama Talk page on Facebook.
Speaking to NBC’s Today, she said that it was the only time Zachary ever did anything like this.
At first she thought he was shoving something “gross” into her mouth but once she realised what was happening she asked her sister to begin recording it.
The response to the video has been “amazing”, she added.
“I feel when mothers see this it will strike a nerve just due to the many levels of breastfeeding it touches on.
“As simple as it is, you can still kind of get the feeling of what a nursing mother goes through; the tired nights, rushed, cold meals, and the hope that your selflessness will live on and not go unnoticed by your children.”
