Alejandro Mizsan is finally home.

9-year-old Alejandro Mizsan has returned home from hospital after being attacked by a pitbull seven weeks ago.

The young boy suffered life-changing injuries, but his family said they’re overjoyed to have him home.

Speaking to The Irish Mirror, Alejandro’s family said the “nightmare is over”.

They said they have dreamed of this moment for months.

Alejandro was due to spend another few weeks in hospital, but his doctors decided it was time for him to go home. His family confirmed he was given the go-ahead by the team at Crumlin Children’s Hospital.

Alejandro was welcomed home to Enniscorthy, Wexford by his family, friends, and locals.

His brother Raul praised his younger brother for being so strong since the life-changing attack.

He said, “He’s delighted to be home too. It’s very emotional. I never felt like how I felt today just to have my brother back home. The nightmare is over. Today is a dream for us.”

9-year-old Alejandro was attacked by a pitbull on November 27th. The young boy and his friends were playing outside when the dog attacked him.

The dog was put down following the horrifying attack.

Alejandro was airlifted to hospital and spent weeks recovering from serious injuries.

Locals set up a fundraiser to support Alejandro as he will need more surgeries in the future.
